Irene is celebrating 10 years of painting... It's amazing that in 2008, Irene has been painting the Yellow Hat people in all their guises and situations for 10 years - how time flies! ITV's 'Heart Of The Country' - Broadcast Thursday 4th November 2004 Heart of the Country’ is one of the longest running countryside programmes on British TV. On 4th November 2004, the final programme in the series featured Irene George and Vince Tyack of Brookfield Ostrich Farm. The TV crew spent a long day on the farm, starting at 5.30 a.m. when they filmed Vince and Irene picking sunflowers for the local Farmers Market. They followed them through a typical day: feeding the ostriches, working on the farm and, of course, visiting Irene at work in her studio in ‘The Yellow Hat Gallery’. Irene was filmed painting a large, privately commissioned canvas called ‘The Gold Cup’ as well as working on the early stages of ‘Masterpiece’ – now available as a Limited Edition print. The programme has created a huge amount of interest in The Yellow Hat Gallery and Irene has welcomed – and continues to welcome - many new visitors who have found their way to Brookfield Farm.
